Do Not Accept Your Insurance Carrier’s Underpayment or Wrongful Denial of Your Commercial Property Fire Insurance Claim
A fire can devastate your business and bring it to a halt. You pay significant yearly premiums for insurance coverage in your time of need. When the need arises, your insurance carrier should be there to promptly and fully compensate you for your loss. However, not all insurance companies do what they should. Fire and smoke can cause extensive damage or completely destroy your property, your business, inventory and/or contents, and adversely affect business income. Insurance carriers know this but do not always fully and properly investigate your claim and promptly pay for all covered damage.
At the Law Offices of Robert N. Grisham II, we are dedicated to holding insurance companies accountable for the promises made in their insurance policies. The ability of your business to recover after a devastating loss matters much more than the insurance company’s bottom line. Experienced Representation and Passionate Advocacy
We are passionate in our fight against unjust and unlawful actions of insurance companies. We have experience handling property fire-related claims, whether they are claims for total destruction of the property, claims for partial damage, smoke damage, or claims for damage to your inventory and/or contents. Our firm has filed countless lawsuits and successfully reached a resolution on behalf of our clients in cases involving disputes related to fire claims.
Fire Claim Underpayment or Denial
Did your insurance company base the claim decision and payment on a report issued by its insurance adjuster following an inspection of the property? Did your insurance company base the claim decision upon a report issued by an expert such as a cause and origin inspector? Did the cause and origin expert conclude the fire was caused by arson? If so, your claim may have been underpaid or improperly denied.
Network of Reliable Consultants
Over the years, we have built a vast pool of qualified, reliable consultants to assist with the investigation of a potential case. They can perform inspections to determine the extent of damage and accurately calculate the cost to repair the damage. We use the information gained from our investigation to assist with representation of our clients. In the event we are unable to secure a full and fair resolution, we will not hesitate to file suit against your insurance carrier. We are committed to securing justice for you.
Business Income Coverage
When a loss damages your property and adversely affects your business operations, Business Income Coverage may be the only thing that keeps your business alive. Business Income Coverage is intended to compensate the business owner for income lost during the period of repair of the property. Generally, it begins when the direct physical damage occurs and ends on the earlier of the date that the damaged property should be repaired, rebuilt or replaced. Typically, Business Income Coverage pays for the net income that would have been earned, operating expenses, including payroll, and loss of rents incurred during the period of restoration because of suspension of operations due to a covered loss. The standard policy limits the period of restoration to 30 days; this period can typically be extended to 360 days by an endorsement to the policy.
We assist our clients with presentation of a Business Income Coverage claim, including advice regarding compiling documentation supporting the claim. This may require the assistance of qualified consultants or experts to determine the loss.
